Mother Russia’s’ Domination

Russia. Land of burly Russians and beautiful pale women. When I was a little kid, no more than a toddler, I used to think that Asia was one country. I was in Nepal at that time and I knew, with the very primitive knowledge of geography that I had, that Nepal was small. So I used to believe that Nepal was only a city, and there were manu more cities in the great, big nation of Asia. And Russia was the biggest and the greatest.

A country blessed with an abundance of natural resources, Russia can proudly state it self as being one of the most powerful countries in the world. Also, being the biggest country in the world, they can boast and enormous amount of man power. Through out history, they have been considered to be the most powerful military nation in Europe. Through sheere numbers and ‘a home court advantange’ they have won more than their share of battles.

Great armies have attempted to invade Russia and have failed. Two of the most prominent are Napolean Bonepart and Adolf Hitler.

Napolean, considered one of the greatest military and strategic generals of all time. He conqured all of Western and Central Europe (not counting Britan). He had turned all of France into a military machine. France went into a state of ‘Total War’, meaning that everything and everyone in the country was bent towards war. The women were kept busy creating uniforms. The men busy fighting for their country. Napolean mustered an army of over 600 thousand men, and marched for Russia. This army was the biggest army ever assembled in one place in the history of Europe. This army was defeated, thanks to Russia’s ‘scorched Earth’ tactic, where they lead the army and destroy the land around it.

Hitler also attempted to invade Russia, but yet again he was defeated the same way as Napolean. It seems that the defeat of these two great armies was courteousy of the savage Russian winter.

As you can see, Mother Russia is great and all-mighty. There is no defeating her.

Sunny Liston vs. Cassius Clay

“Look at me. Not a mark on me. I could never be an underdog. I am too great. Hail the champion!” The words spoken by the new heavyweight champion of the world in the press conference that followed the fight, that can only be described as one of the greatest sporting events in history. The fight was between Cassius Clay a.k.a. Muhammad Ali, the undersized up and comer who was challenging Sunny Liston for the boxing heavyweight title. Sunny Liston was considered one of the greatest fighters of all time, and earned the nickname “Big Bear” because he was an enormous opponent, so enormous that he only fought six minutes over thirty five months because other fighters wouldn’t dare step into the ring with the Big Bear. Cassius on the other hand was a loud mouthed undersized fighter who had gotten his lights knocked out multiple times prior.

Furious 7 Is Gonna Be Awesome!

I remember watching the first movie of this series, The Fast And Furious (Paul Walker looked so young!), and being absolutely blown away. I was only 11 years old. Sitting on my couch at my house, wrapped in a blanket, and with a bowl of buttered popcorn in my hand provided a thrilling and strangely comfortable experience. In the movie, the combination of fast cars, pretty girls, and of course the city of Los Angeles is mind blowing. I remember the first race scene in which Dominic Toretto (played by VIn Diesel) and Brian O’Connell (played by Paul Walker) are racing, and being totally entranced thinking, “Is he gonna win? Is Brian gonna WIN?” A jaw dropping series starter.

That feeling of suspense for me has carried through all the movies for me. (I was a little disappointed at Tokyo Drift because it DRIFTED from the main story line of the movies.) I also remember seeing Fast & Furious 6 and the suspense of the last scene in which the runway seemed long enough to run from Spain to Russia. That was— different… The only aspect I did not like from these movies was the excessive killing.

Like Marcus Brutus says from the play Julius Caesar,

“Let us be sacrificers, not butchers.”

Julius-Caesar-(1953)---James-Mason-3

Furious 7 is the name of the new movie and it is going to be KILLER! I cannot wait until it comes out. I was not sure if they were going to release the movie in the wake of Paul Walkers death, which was tragic. But I guess ‘the show must go on’. Paul Walker had shot most of his dramatic and action scenes anyways. It still makes me wonder if they are going to kill off Brian in the movie though… The movie is said to take place in Tokyo and in Dubai. They also had a change in directors from Justin Lin to James Wan so the style of filming will change.

My friend told me a peculiar thing yesterday. “Any movie that takes place in Tokyo with a character not originally from Tokyo, sucks. So far, that’s true. Maybe this movie will break the pattern.

Anyways, this movie will be released on April 3, 2015. The total budget has been inflamed due to Walker’s death and Wan being inexperienced to heavy duty, action films. It has exceeded its $200 million dollar budget. But, judging from the success of the other movies, the Gross Income will far exceed that.

I hope you all go to see the movie and have a great time.

Be A Wolf

I often have friends tell me they didn’t do certain things for the fear of what people say. I respond by saying that is absolute foolishness. A quote that explains my thought process when saying this is

“Wolves don’t lose sleep over the opinion of sheep.”

What this quote is literally saying is that wolves don’t concern themselves with the opinion of sheep because they are indisputably superior to the sheep. Also, sheep most likely lose sleep over wolves which I think symbolizes the idea “if you got a problem with me, its your problem” which may same as arrogant and narrow minded but allow me to expand on this thought. The reason I think this way, is because I believe their are too many important things in the world and too little opportunities for happiness to drive yourself crazy over the thoughts of others. I am not saying not to listen to anyone’s criticism and live in a dream world, but rather listen to the important stuff and put anything that doesn’t out of your mind.

5 Key Steps To Win At Life

gatsby1

Life is a game. Some people win, some people lose, others barely attempt to play. Nonetheless, it is a game that all can play. For someone to win this “Game Of Life”, they have to have certain qualities. In my opinion, these qualities can be things that you are born with, or qualities you fake/pretend to have. You then, by feigning these things, come to actually become accustomed to them and unconsciously, they will become a part of you. These are my 5 things to do to win at life.
